Make a Difference
Why This Exists
Your Data Built an Industry. You Never Got a Cut.
Every time you shop, you create data. Stores, card networks, apps and data brokers collect it, package it and sell it. That market is worth hundreds of billions of dollars a year, and the people who create the data get nothing.
We flip that. You choose to share, you get rewarded for every receipt, and the people and neighborhoods the data came from grow with us.
Where the Money Goes
Scholarships and Grants
For members and their kids, chosen by vote.
Small Businesses
Only big companies can afford insights like pricing trends and product ideas. The community can vote to share those insights with local businesses at a price they can afford, plus grants.

The K-Shaped Economy
Why We're MAD
Up: big companies and people who own stocks, homes and businesses
Down: workers, families living paycheck to paycheck, and small businesses
The economy has split like the two arms of a K. One side keeps pulling ahead. The other keeps falling behind. Your data is part of what pushes the top arm up, and you get nothing for it.
Big Companies Buy Every Edge
They go to great lengths to collect data about you, buy more from data brokers, and track you online. Then they use it to grow faster and beat small businesses.
From Factories to Data
Factory jobs got shipped overseas. Now the biggest money is in data, your data, and the companies collecting it keep the gains.
Now AI Is Widening It Faster
Companies use AI to earn more while hiring fewer people: freezes, buyouts and layoffs. We’re not against technology. We’re against the gains going to so few.
Small Businesses Are Left Out
Mom and pop shops can’t see the trends big chains see. We turn the community’s data into insights, like pricing trends and product ideas. Never anyone’s personal data.
How the Community Closes the K
Today
Our Goal
Big companies can keep rising. Our goal is to turn the bottom arm back up, so small businesses and everyday people rise with them. When the data is shared and everyone who creates it gets rewarded, growth is democratized: everyone wins together.
You Get Rewarded
For the data you create, instead of giving it away for free.
Main Street Gets a Fighting Chance
Your favorite local restaurant, thrift store and corner shop get the same insights as the giants, so they can grow too.
Growth Comes Back Home
Scholarships, local schools, small business grants and the causes members vote for.
We Hire From the Community
When we grow, we hire from the community first.
Big Companies Win Too
We’re not against big companies. They grow with the community’s data too, and help lift everyone else along the way.
Not a Regular Company
A Public Benefit Corporation
A regular corporation must put shareholders first. A public benefit corporation must balance them with a public benefit written into its charter, and report on it. Ours is 50% of profits, in two halves:
25%
The Reward My Data Foundation
A separate, registered charity. Members vote on what it funds, and anyone who wants to back the mission can give to it directly.
25%
The Community Program
Paid by the company itself: scholarships, small business grants and investment, local schools, and whatever members vote for.
Example Causes
Examples to start. The most voted causes rise to the top and get funded first.
